This was to identify areas where efficiency can be improved whilst investigation options to reduce ongoing maintenance costs. We understand that the brief is broad, and that the main considerations and aims will be to improve efficiency, and to enhance (where possible) the experience of guests and visitors. Consideration has also been made for compliance; therefore, we have also included the design for emergency lighting coverage to internal areas.
Upon visiting the site, general observations are that, although legible, the site suffers from some mismatching colour temperatures and visual comfort issues due to the layout and products currently used. There are also some reported early failures of units. Many of the design options herein are corrective measures in order to rebalance the Car park.
Take a look at the photos above compared to the photos below. You can see a dramatic change in the lighting levels. This one change saved the client over £20,000 annually.
There has never been a better time to invest in energy efficiency. Businesses are looking to combat rising energy prices, reduce their carbon footprint and maintenance costs. It’s good for the economy and good for the planet. Many businesses are being forced to make these changes through the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme. So installing LED lighting is the obvious choice for drastic energy savings and it’s a quick and easy win on CO2 reduction too.
