Regency Court is a luxury residential apartment block located in Westminster which has fabulous views of parliament. This development is spread over eight floors, which offers concierge within a large reception, and secure underground parking. The brief was to design, supply and install a new Energy Efficient lighting solution to reduce energy used, control lighting during occupied periods only and eradicate vast maintenance costs.

Solution Overview
  • Remove all old technology, high wattage light fittings to all lobbies, stairs, and reception.
  • Replace front staircase lighting for new LED Bulkheads with integral Occupancy Detectors, preventing wasted energy used during unoccupied periods
  • Replace lighting for new electronic fluorescent with integral controls,controlling lights during occupied periods only.
  • Removal old existing lobby wall lights and wiring, And the installation of new LED Recessed spot lighting to all apartment lobbies andreception
  • Installation of remote occupancy detectors to apartment communal lobbies so controlling lights during occupied periods only.

Installation Example
Apartment Lobby Areas: Within the apartment lobbies and reception we replaced old 60W wall mounted half moon lights with new 8W LED recessed spot lights. This solution has not only has this saved vast energy usage (90%) and high maintenance costs it has also improved lighting levels and improved the aesthetics of the lobbies too.
Staircases: This site had two staircases feeding 10 floors and was permanently lit 24/7 without the option of control. Most fitting were located adjacent to glazed window areas too. (see image) We replaced all compact 35W fluorescent fittings for new 14W LED alternatives with integral occupancy and light level detectors so switching lights “on” only during dust hours and when occupied only. These areas have saved 90% plus in wasted energy as these staircases rarely used.
